Biden officially confirmed as Presidential Candidate from Democrats

Former Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden has been officially confirmed as the country's Democratic presidential candidate.

The decision was taken at the Democratic National Convention, which was held in Wisconsin on August 18 online due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Party delegations from the states and territories of the country announced the results of the past primaries: Biden received the largest number of votes from party delegates, according to CNN.

In total, over 3550 votes were cast for Biden.

Representatives of Delaware, where Biden lived most of his life, made speeches at the convention. As the governor of the state John Carney told how Senator Biden traveled to work by train with the rest of the passengers. Acting Senator from the state Thomas Carper, in turn, spoke about the politician's honesty, modesty and truthfulness, as well as his respect for others and said that Biden "builds bridges, not walls."

In turn, Biden thanked those present and said that such voting results are important not only for him, but also for his family.

It is expected that tomorrow - August 20 - the presidential candidate will make an official speech.

Recall that the presidential elections in the United States are scheduled for November 3, 2020.
