SpaceX is "advancing at an incredible pace relative to the rest of the aerospace sector," he posted on social media. Musk is confident that Starship will be the first spacecraft to achieve a comprehensive lunar mission.

The spacecraft is intended to deliver humans to the Moon as a component of NASA's Artemis initiative in 2027. Musk aims to have Starship certified for human missions as soon as next year. China aims to achieve a crewed lunar landing by 2030.

The reusable rocket system of SpaceX includes the Super Heavy launch vehicle and the Starship spacecraft. It rises to over 120 meters in height, surpassing any other rocket ever constructed. The Super Heavy rocket is two times more powerful than NASA's heavy-lift Space Launch System (SLS) being crafted for crewed lunar missions.

The rocket has been launched into orbital test flights 11 times, with five of those resulting in failure.
