Newmont Mining Corp has recently announced the sale of its Waihi Gold operations to OceanaGold Corp for a disclosed sum of $101 million, $5 million contingent plus royalties. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and conditions being met, before it gets closed by the third quarter of the current year.
