Ford recalls 2.5M cars in North America

On Wednesday, Ford announced a recall of a total of 2.5 million cars of various models in North America due to potential problems with closing doors and leaking brake fluid, the manufacturer said in a statement.

“If the door closes after several attempts to do this, then there is a possibility that the door will open during the ride. Ford is not aware of any incidents or injuries associated with this,” it was reported.

The recall covers 2.15 million Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus, Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape, Ford C-Max, Ford Mustang, assembled at a number of plants in different years. The period as a whole covers 2011-2016, specific years of release are indicated for different models.

In addition, about 350 thousand Ford F-150 pickups in the USA, Canada and Mexico of 2014-2017 years of production are subject to recall due to a possible leak of brake fluid.
