In its press release, the company stated that its net profit for the quarter ended September 27 was $1.243 billion, or $0.75 per share, compared to $771 million, or $0.47 per share, in the same period the previous year.
When excluding one-time events, AMD's earnings were $1.20 per share, which was higher than the $1.16 per share that analysts had projected.

Revenue in the data center chip division rose by 22% to $4.34 billion, exceeding the forecast of $4.09 billion. Revenue from the PC components segment increased by 46% to a record $2.75 billion. Gaming revenue surged by 2.8 times to $1.3 billion.
AMD expects its fourth-quarter revenue to be between $9.3 billion and $9.9 billion, compared to the analyst estimate of $9.15 billion.
