Airbus stated in a statement to Bloomberg that the company has been compelled to carry out more inspections on the aircraft during production, resulting in delayed monthly deliveries to customers.
The company added that the source of the defects has been determined and referred to the quality problem as an "isolated occurrence." The company announced that A330neo deliveries to clients have restarted.
Bloomberg sources indicate that Airbus did not hand over any A330neo aircraft in June or July and sent only one unit of this model in August, to Starlux Airlines in Taiwan.
It supplied 57 aircraft to clients in August, as opposed to 67 in July.
Airbus intends to provide 870 airplanes to clients this year. The company stock dropped 1.2% during trading on Thursday. Their worth has decreased 2% since the beginning of the year.
