Amazon's AI cloud revenue exceeds $15 billion annualized

The AI division of AWS, Amazon.com Inc.'s cloud sector, announced annualized revenue, exceeding $15 billion in the first quarter of 2026, as stated by CEO Andy Jassy in his annual shareholder letter issued Thursday.

Amazon has revealed revenue figures for its AI business for the first time, which is investing billions of dollars.

Jessy observed that the AI sector achieved this notable revenue milestone within merely three years. In contrast, AWS's revenue was merely $58 million annualized three years following its commercial launch.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, AWS increased its revenue by 24% compared to the previous year, totaling $142 billion on an annualized basis.

In his letter to shareholders, Jesse characterizes AI as a groundbreaking technological change that will revolutionize nearly every customer experience and affect numerous industries, including retail, entertainment, healthcare, and software engineering.

Earlier this year, Amazon revealed intentions to allocate $200 billion in capital by 2026, mainly towards AI infrastructure.
