In these days, Prime members will enjoy discounts of up to 50% on items from top brands such as Sol de Janeiro, LG, Stanley, Ninja, Our Place, Levi's, and Little Tikes, the online retailer revealed.

In selecting the dates for the well-known promotion, Amazon took into account the schedule of significant sporting events and public holidays."This year features the World Cup and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, so we concluded this week would be the ideal time for Prime Day," Jamil Ghani, Amazon Prime's vice president, informed Reuters.

The FIFA World Cup is scheduled from June 11 to July 19, while the US observes Independence Day on July 4.

Amazon is relying on Prime members to capitalize on the sales to gather groceries and other necessities for important World Cup games and festive occasions.

Prime Day is a major annual event for Amazon's promotions. The sales duration was lengthened from two days to four days last year.
