Bayer To Take Over Monsanto For ‘$66 Billion’

The world leader in seed market will soon be acquired by Bayer.



According to the Reuters reports, on Wednesday, 14th September 2016, Bayer informed that it succeeded in taking over the management of Monsanto for a “$128 per share offer in cash”, whereby the total value counting the debt equals to “$66 billion”. The said move is an attempt to “take over the global seed market leader”.
 
Both the companies came to the agreement term on an “antitrust break fee of $2 billion”, while there are expectations that the deal will come its close by the year end of 2017, stated the German Group.
 
Moreover, Bayer has plans on paying the transaction amount by clubbing “debt and equity”, while it also adds that:
“The equity component of approximately $19 billion is expected to be raised through mandatory convertible bonds and a rights issue”.
