Saudi Aramco, a state-owned company, utilized the pipeline to move oil to the Red Sea port of Yanbu due to challenges in transporting oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Pipeline operations were stopped on September 13 because of drone strikes, leading to a halt in oil deliveries from Yanbu. Saudi Aramco resumed operations last week, initiating a steady release of oil.
As per the agency's sources, the Saudi state firm conducted a test of the pipeline by raising system pressure and intended to restart large-scale pumping by the weekend. Export shipments have now restarted.
The pipeline can handle 7 million barrels daily. Usually, around 2 million barrels are sent to Aramco refineries located on the Red Sea coast, with the rest being exported.
