"We at DB Cargo will coordinate with the federal government to arrange further orders and rail transport," she told the German media group RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland, "in light of the threat of famine in some parts of the world and the enormous need to export millions of tons of Ukrainian grain to world markets".

Every day, DB Cargo delivers trains carrying grain to several seaports with the support of its subsidiaries in Poland and Romania.

Nicutta stated that the focus currently was on increasing agricultural exports. She explained that "The goal is to build long-term connectivity with seaports on the North Sea, Black Sea, and Mediterranean."
