Fast food chain Raising Cane's surpasses KFC in US sales in 2024

According to a company statement cited by CNBC, the American fast food chain Raising Cane's achieved revenue of $5.1 billion in 2024.

As a result, the company overtook the KFC chain in sales within the US and secured the third position in the category of restaurants focused on chicken meals. Chick-fil-A is the segment leader, while Popeyes ranks second in revenue. 

Raising Cane's launched 118 new locations last year and intends to establish roughly 100 additional ones this year. Currently, the total count of restaurants directly owned by the company surpasses 900, compared to just 500 in 2020. 

Raising Cane's was established by entrepreneur Todd Graves in Louisiana in 1996. Graves holds a controlling interest in the firm and has an estimated net worth of $17.2 billion. 

Raising Cane's CEO Aj Kumaran stated that the company does not intend to become publicly traded.
