Global chip sales in January grow by almost 50% year-on-year

According to a press release from the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), worldwide chip sales in January surged 46.1% compared to the previous year, reaching $82.54 billion.



This figure rose by 3.7% compared to December (up from a revised $79.63 billion).

"Following record sales in 2025, the worldwide chip market maintained its growth in January," stated SIA President and CEO John Neuffer, as mentioned in the announcement. Worldwide sales are anticipated to hit around $1 trillion by 2026.

Sales in the Americas jumped 34.9% year-over-year in January, in Europe by 26.1%, in China by 47%, and in the Asia-Pacific and other areas by 82.4%. In Europe, they fell by 6.2%.

Chip sales rose by 1.2% in North and South America compared to December, by 5.3% in Europe, by 5.8% in China, and by 5% in the Asia-Pacific area, whereas they fell by 1.7% in Japan.
