The firm unveiled its strategic plan prior to its Investor Day on Thursday in New York, which also indicated that its operating profit margin is anticipated to be 6-7% this year, one percentage point lower than its earlier forecast. Hyundai stated that it still anticipates the margin will rise to 7-8% by 2027 and to 8-9% by 2030.
Vehicle sales are expected to hit 4.1 million units in 2025, a decline from 4.2 million the previous year, and are anticipated to reach 5.6 million by 2030.
Hyundai revealed its goal to produce over 80% of its vehicles for the US market by 2030 and is increasing output at its Georgia facility. The production capability of this facility is projected to achieve 500,000 vehicles annually by 2028, which includes ten models of hybrid and electric vehicles.
This year, around 40% of Hyundai cars sold in the US were produced domestically. The US market represents over 40% of the company's earnings.
The car manufacturer aims to increase its worldwide hybrid range to over 18 models by the decade's conclusion, up from the 14 models revealed last year. The firm intends to introduce extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) in 2027 and will debut its first midsize pickup truck in North America by 2030.
