Jeff Bezos sells $2B worth of Amazon stock

According to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Jeff Bezos, the founder and former CEO of Amazon.com Inc., sold 12 million shares of the company on February 7-8 for a total of approximately $2.04 billion.

As of right now, Bezos holds 976 million shares in the business.

The average sale price was $170.21 per share. Quotes were at $174.45 at Friday's closing.

This is Bezos' first sale of Amazon stock in more than two years. Prior to that, in November 2021, he had already sold securities for roughly $172.7, accounting for the split that occurred in June 2022.

Amazon's capitalization now surpasses $1.8 trillion with growth of 22% over the last three months and 75% over the last twelve. 16% and 36.5% more have been added to the Nasdaq Composite stock index, respectively.
