Lagarde has no plans to leave the ECB until 2027

Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank (ECB), intends to remain in her position until at least the year's conclusion.

"I won't disappear until 2027," she stated at a press conference on Thursday after the July meeting.

"I will continue to be the captain of this ship," Lagarde said, replying to a query from journalists.

Lagarde's tenure as president of the ECB ends in October 2027. Media reports indicate she might resign soon to lead the World Economic Forum or reenter French politics.
