Lockheed Martin Secures ‘$1.38 Billion’ Pentagon Deal

The aircraft of “F-35 Lightning II” will now be made at Lockheed Martin.



According to Pentagon’s report, the Lockheed Martin Corp. has secured the defence contract of “$1.38 billion” for building hundred thirty “F-35 Lightning II aircraft”.
 
The said contract is an “advance acquisition” covering “long-lead time materials, parts, components and work” towards creating a low rate “initial production of the fighter jets” that will be used in the “Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, non-U.S. Department of Defense participants and foreign military sales customers” confirmed a statement of Pentagone.
