The world's largest manufacturer of automotive parts company Delphi Corp. announced a partnership with the Israeli Mobileye. The two companies are going to create a system of automated driving of 4th and 5th levels, that is, to provide complete independence of a car from drivers. The manufacturers have decided to break into the rapidly growing market for unmanned vehicles, and to offer a ready-made solution to the world’s carmakers. The companies hope to develop a system that would fit all types of vehicles, from small-displacement cars to heavy trucks.

Both companies are the world leaders in the development of various components, used in unmanned driving system. While automakers and technology companies compete with each other in pursuit to individually create a robot car, Mobileye's and Delphi have decided to use all their experience in order to provide a single system for the greatest possible number of customers. In fact, unmanned management will become a new kit. According to The Wall Street Journal, parties to the agreement are willing to spend several hundred million dollars on the joint project’s development.

In January 2017, Delphi and Mobileye will demonstrate a system capable of driving a car in heavy traffic. A finished complete unmanned driving system should appear in 2019. At that, integration of the novelty into automobiles of various manufacturers may take a couple of years. Thus, in case of success, cars controlled by Delphi and Mobileye system will hit the market not earlier than in 2021.
