The Pentagon has decided that China's Alibaba Group Holding Inc., Baidu Inc., and BYD Co. are aiding the Chinese military and should be included on the US 1260H list, according to Bloomberg.

Officials from the Pentagon conveyed their findings to Congress in a letter dispatched on October 7, about three weeks ahead of the trade truce reached between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the agency points out.

It remains uncertain if Alibaba, Baidu, and BYD have been included in the 1260H list. Although being included on the list doesn't entail immediate legal repercussions for the firms, it may harm their reputations and acts as a significant caution for US investors regarding the dangers of engaging in business with them.

In reply to a Bloomberg inquiry, Alibaba remarked that it "finds no justification" for its addition to the list.

The statement indicates that Alibaba is not a Chinese defense firm nor involved in the nation's civil-military integration strategy. The firm anticipates maintaining its regular operations in the United States and globally.
