Reuters reports, based on information from two reliable sources, that the company bought multiple shipments of Russian Urals crude oil at prices that were between $1 less than and $1 more than the Dated Brent price.
Reuters reports that Indian oil refiners have bought millions of barrels of Russian crude oil for immediate shipment, including shipments that are already on their way to port. This became possible following the US providing India with a 30-day waiver to bypass sanctions, allowing it to purchase crude oil loaded on ships from March 5.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent commented on the administration's decision, stating with confidence that "this intentionally short-term action will not greatly benefit the Russian government financially, as it only allows transactions for oil that is already at sea."
