Seoul to invest $350 billion in US economy in exchange for Washington's tariff cuts

US President Donald Trump said he reached an agreement with South Korean leaders about big investments from South Korea into the US economy. In return, the US will lower some of the taxes it puts on South Korean goods.

He wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, that South Korea will give the US $350 billion. They also plan to buy a lot of US oil and gas. Plus, wealthy South Korean businesses will invest over $600 billion in the US, he said.

Trump also said he has approved plans for South Korea to build a nuclear submarine at a US shipyard. He added, "South Korea will be building a nuclear submarine in Philadelphia, right here in the good ol' USA. Shipbuilding will soon be back in a big way in our country."

Earlier, Renhap News Agency reported that South Korean National Security Advisor Wi Sung-lac said Trump wanted to talk with South Korean leaders about South Korea possibly getting nuclear submarines.
