Shell abandons plans for biofuels plant in Rotterdam

The British-Dutch oil and gas firm Shell has ultimately scrapped its intentions to construct a biofuels facility in Rotterdam.

The firm stated it has chosen to “focus on assigning capital to initiatives that most effectively address our customers' needs and generate value for our shareholders.”

The initiative, which proposed building a facility for producing 820,000 tons of biofuels annually, was halted last year.

Share in Shell has increased by 0.1% during trading on Wednesday. Starting from the beginning of this year, their value has risen by 10.3%.
