Ford claimed that the company found about a justice on speed lovers who actively shake the gas pedal and do not pay attention to the signs when they see a straight road. This is a car that reads information from their own road signs and automatically resets the speed.

The new version of S-Max car has the technology that scans the road signs and regulates the flow of fuel to the engine, helping the driver to stay within the allowed speed and to avoid fines for traffic violations. System called Intelligent Speed Limiter was presented by the European Ford branch in Germany. It is reported that the technology is applicable to car owners worldwide.

S-Max adjusts vehicle speed, focusing on the common road signs. Feature of the technology is that the brake system is not used to reset the speed.

- The system does not use the brakes and smoothly controls the torque of the engine by the electronic fuel control, the company’s spokesperson said.

However, reckless still have a room for maneuver. According to Ford, the system can be switched off temporarily by simply pushing the trigger.

Previously, Ford announced a new system called Pre-Collision Assist allowing Ford vehicles’ radar and cameras to see the different objects as close as at a distance in front of it. With this system, if the vehicle gets in a dangerous situation, it activates the brake system, trying to avoid a collision with a pedestrian crossing the road, or at least minimize the effect of collision if the halt did not happenet.

Camera with wide-angle optics and radar will be located near the car’s bumper. They will constantly scan the surrounding area and warns the driver if there is a threat of collision. If the driver does not react to the warning, then the system gets the right to take control and stop in front of an obstacle or person.

The new technology is a step on the road to Ford autonomous vehicle. Despite major achievements in this field, unmanned vehicles are not yet available for ordinary drivers. Volvo, for example, promised to release drones on the Sweden roads only in 2017.

Big companies like Google are also experimenting with such technology of unmanned vehicles. Recently it became known that the search engine giant has patented the airbag for pedestrians, and Tesla prepares an autopilot for its electric cars as well. It is expected that the Model S will be self-driving within the next few months.
