The newspaper cites a US official stating that the United States and Iran have come to a preliminary agreement regarding the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Nonetheless, the newspaper highlights that it remains uncertain when shipping in the strait will be able to restart, as the agreement has not yet been finalized.

The New York Times observes that, due to the lack of finalized details in the agreement, it is still uncertain what level of control Iran will maintain over the strait, if any at all, or if it will have the ability to impose tolls for transit.

At the same time, CBS News, referring to US intelligence sources, reports that Iranian officials tasked with working with the US government are "facing challenges in communication within their own government" since the whereabouts of Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei are well-hidden and he cannot be reached directly.

On Monday night, Fox News, referencing an informed US official, announced that the US-Iran framework agreement is 95% finished.
