The firm intends to remove 30 additional ingredients, such as artificial sweeteners and preservatives.

The alterations to the recipes will impact all food and beverage items available under the Great Value, Marketside, Freshness Guaranteed, and Bettergoods labels.

Shifting to natural colors (particularly those derived from beets, carrots, spinach, and hibiscus) will necessitate modifications to recipes and testing of more than 1,000 products. Walmart states that nearly 90% of its products are now devoid of these unwanted ingredients.

In declaring its move toward natural ingredients, Walmart aligns with several firms, such as Campbell's, Conagra Brands, and Kraft Heinz Co., which have also disclosed comparable intentions in reaction to demands from U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy Jr., who has prioritized the removal of artificial colors from food items.
