Analysts at the research firm observe a decline in the US market while other regions are experiencing growth.
“We anticipated that the US market would decelerate this quarter due to the earlier inventory accumulation, but the current observations might suggest a decline in US PC demand prior to the forthcoming import tariffs,” stated Jean Phillippe Bouchard, vice president of IDC's Worldwide Mobile Device Trackers.
Even with the slow US market, global interest in PCs has increased, fueled by aging machines and the gradual shift to Windows 11.
Bouchard describes the present situation as an “uncertain market” and observes that “the primary worry is how overall demand will appear by the conclusion of the third quarter and afterward.”
