Zara founder buys Paris office building for €800 million

Billionaire Amancio Ortega, the founder of Inditex SA, one of the biggest clothing retailers globally, has purchased an office building in Paris, marking the largest office real estate deal in Europe since 2022.

Pontegadea, the wealthy asset manager, acquired the Capital 8 complex for around €800 million, a company spokesperson revealed.

Earlier, media reports suggested the cost might hit €850 million. This high-end project is situated in the 8th arrondissement of Paris and encompasses a total floor space of 45,000 square meters.

Pontegadea holds a 59% stake in Inditex SA and primarily reinvests the dividends it receives into real estate, along with infrastructure and energy ventures. In 2024, the worth of the assets managed by the company was assessed at €19.3 billion.

Ortega's net worth is assessed at $130 billion, making him Spain's wealthiest individual and the 15th wealthiest person globally.
