On Monday, the European Central Bank’s vice president, Vitor Constancio stated, the central bank’s monetary policy must remain easy since inflation in the Eurozone continues to be low at around 2% despite falling unemployment and strong economic growth. “We are not yet fulfilling our mandate and that is why monetary policy will have to continue to be very accommodative, assuring favourable financial conditions to foster growth and spur wages and prices,” said Vitor Constancio, seen as a policy dove, at a conference.
