AP: US Attorney General orders to investigate possible election fraud

US Attorney General William Barr instructed federal prosecutors to investigate allegations of material irregularities in the presidential elections, the Associated Press (AP) reports, citing a Justice Department document.

Investigations should be conducted when there are “clear and credible” allegations of irregularities that could affect the election results in a particular state. Results should be submitted by December 8th.

AP calls Mr Barr "a loyal ally of President Donald Trump." The publication claims that the attorney general helped Mr. Trump spread allegations of fraud.

The US presidential election was held on November 3. Democratic candidate Joe Biden collected the necessary electoral numbers to win and de facto won the presidential race. Republican Donald Trump considers the election results to be rigged. He filed lawsuits for counting votes in key states.
