To accommodate rising demand, the cloud division specifically intends to build infrastructure in Tokyo and Osaka.

"Japan is a very important country for us," AWS's head of its Japanese division Tadao Nagasaki is quoted as saying by the Jiji Press agency.

Between 2011 and 2022, AWS has already invested 1.51 trillion yen to increase cloud capacity in the nation. Asahi Group, Marubeni, and Nomura Holdings are a few of its clients in the field of generative (content-creating) artificial intelligence.
