The most recent group of individuals granted pardons featured Biden's siblings Francis and James, the wife of the latter, Sarah, along with the sister of Democrat Valerie Biden Owens and her spouse John Owens.

Biden stated in a release that his choice to pardon the individuals “should not be interpreted as an acknowledgment that they engaged in any misconduct, nor should accepting it be interpreted as an acknowledgment of guilt for any crime.”

The Democrat stated that his family has faced ongoing "attacks and threats" driven by an intention to personally injure him. “Regrettably, I see no evidence that these assaults will cease,” Biden noted.

Earlier today, Biden proactively pardoned several public officials who faced potential prosecution from his successor Trump - included were the previous head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milley, and the former director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci. "Public servants facing continuous threats and intimidation while fulfilling their responsibilities in good faith is deeply troubling,” Biden's statement expressed.
