Sutcliffe mentioned during an interview with the WSJ that the main question for Geely is determining the timing and location of its market entry in the US.
Geely has a wide range of vehicle brands under its ownership, including models that produce electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and traditional internal combustion engines.
Unlike many other Chinese automakers, Geely already has a presence in the US through its Swedish-owned brand, Volvo. Additionally, Waymo, which is part of Alphabet Inc., utilizes Zeekr vehicles—another brand within Geely's portfolio—as part of its robotaxi service.
Sutcliffe also noted that the Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands are in the development stage, and these offerings from Geely's brand lineup could be highly suitable for the American market.
