“As per individuals knowledgeable about the situation, the EC will present a set of measures to guarantee no Russian gas imports on 17 June,” the agency reports.

Bloomberg's sources indicate that it will discuss measures to halt Russian oil imports and limit new agreements for uranium and other nuclear resources.

On 6 May, the EC unveiled a proposed 'roadmap' aimed at halting imports of Russian energy sources to the EU. According to the EC communiqué, “the roadmap foresees the phased elimination of Russian oil, gas, and nuclear energy from EU markets.” EC Chair Ursula von der Leyen stated that stopping Russian energy imports would serve the core security interests of the European Union.

Later in May, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that it was essential to halt the execution of the EU's plans to reduce energy imports from Russia.
