Italian company Eni stated that it anticipates its contract volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) provided to customers to double by 2026 and reach 18 million tons annually.

According to Eni's strategic business plan for 2023–2026, "Eni distributes gas to its customers through a more diversified, flexible, and integrated portfolio, and expects contract LNG supplies to increase to more than 18 million tons per year by 2026, which is twice as much as in 2022."

This year, the company plans to begin the first phase of development of the Baleine oil and gas field on the shelf of Côte d'Ivoire and a floating LNG production unit off the coast of the Republic of the Congo, as well as launch LNG production in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Norway, and continue the corresponding program in Algeria. Additionally, in 2024 the company expects to launch additional liquefied gas production in Egypt, Kazakhstan, Norway, and the United Arab Emirates.
