The European Parliament recommends that the European Commission (EC) look into the possibility of developing a mechanism for joint fertilizer procurement for the European Union (EP).
According to the press release, the European Parliament on Thursday approved a resolution urging the development of a long-term EU policy for fertilizers and soil nourishment by June 2023.
The announcement on the resolution stated that "the Commission should investigate (the potential for developing) a system for coordinated fertilizer procurement at the EU level."
Also, according to the EP, members want "the EU to be less dependent on imported fertilizers."
