Fast Company: Apple isn't the most innovative anymore

The most innovative company, according to the American magazine Fast Company, was Meituan Dianping, a Chinese service for ordering food and goods and searching for restaurants and booking hotels. At the same time, Apple Corporation, which last year was named the most innovative company in the world, this year dropped to 17th place in this ranking.

The first place in the ranking of the 50 most innovative companies in the world was taken by the Chinese service Meituan Dianping. This is a platform that combines several functions at once and can search for restaurants and shops in the vicinity, pick up goods, order food delivery and book hotels. In the first half of 2018, Meituan Dianping was used by more than 350 million people in 2.8 thousand cities, through which 27.7 billion transactions were carried out totaling $ 33.8 billion.

The second place in the ranking was taken by the Uber analogue from Southeast Asia, the online taxi service Grab, and the third went to the National Basketball League of the USA (it was ranked for actively introducing various technological solutions, including the launch of a cyber-sports league for players last summer in NBA 2K, a basketball simulator).

In addition, the top 10 most innovative companies included the Walt Disney film company, the Stitch Fix app, with which you can buy clothes and get recommendations on style, the American fast food restaurant chain Sweetgreen, the company Apeel Sciences, which developed the substance derived from plants. fruits and vegetables to keep them fresh longer; Square Payment, the Swedish producer of oat milk, Oatly, and streaming video service Twitch, specializing in computer games. Also, there are Chinese online retailer Alibaba (15th place), Apple (17th place), American pizzeria chain Domino`s (19th place), music holding Universal Music (21st place), Mozilla browser (49th place).

Fast Company says that the choice was based on which companies “had the most profound impact on both industry and culture”, and demonstrated a variety of ways to succeed in today's changing world.
