France's CMA CGM to stop shipments to Russian ports

French container carrier CMA CGM has announced suspension of its operations in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine, the company said.

"We continue to monitor the situation in Ukraine and the Black Sea region... In the interests of its safety, the group has decided as of today to suspend all orders from Russia pending a decision on further action," the company said in a statement.

It is also noted that CMA CGM will take the necessary precautions to protect its IT systems and personal data. The company will continue to monitor the situation and take additional measures to ensure the safety of its employees and goods in transit.

Earlier, the Danish sea container carrier A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S stopped accepting new orders to and from Russia that are not vital.

The French company CMA CGM S.A. was founded in 1978 and is engaged in container shipping and transport. The company has 755 offices and 750 warehouses in 160 countries and serves 420 world trade ports.
