Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) used the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website to announce that the company’s corporate email has been hacked. The hacking group responsible for the attack is believed to be Midnight Blizzard, also known as Cozy Bear (or APT29).

When HPE learned in December 2023 that someone had gained unauthorized access to its cloud email account, it moved quickly to look into the matter, contain it, and address any consequences. The assault was repulsed.

The organization believes that he attackers obtained data from a comparatively limited number of corporate email accounts, including those of employees in marketing, business sector, and cybersecurity.

It is thought that the incident relates to the the same hacker gang that HPE became aware of in June 2023. In May of that year, the corporations disclosed that there had been unapproved access to a restricted quantity of SharePoint files.

The new occurrence is still being looked into. The business stated that the event had no appreciable effect on its operations and is assisting law enforcement.
