Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has mandated that uranium enriched near weapons-grade levels cannot be exported internationally, according to two senior Iranian officials who spoke to Reuters.

According to one of the sources, the directive from the Supreme Leader and the agreement among officials is that enriched uranium reserves must remain within the country. He pointed out that there are "practical solutions" for addressing the problem. He emphasized that the "dilution of the stockpile under IAEA oversight" is at stake.

US President Donald Trump has guaranteed Israel that its reserves of highly enriched uranium, essential for nuclear arms, will be taken from Iran, and this clause will certainly be part of a peace deal with Tehran, Israeli officials informed Reuters.

Israel, the United States, and various Western nations charge Iran with trying to enrich uranium to 60%, a level significantly above what is required for civilian purposes and near the threshold for nuclear arms (90%).

Iran asserts it does not seek nuclear weapons but maintains its right to advance a nuclear program. Iranian officials assert that a portion of highly enriched uranium is required for medical applications and for a research reactor in Tehran, functioning on uranium enriched to 20%.
