05/31/2020

Doctors in Italy find “the COVID-19 disease is different” at present.

On Sunday, a senior doctor from Italy was quoted saying that the new coronavirus seems to have lost potency whereby turning “much less lethal”. The Health of the “San Raffaele Hospital in Milan”, the took the worst blow from the virus, San Raffaele, said:
“In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy”.
“The swabs that were performed over the last 10 days showed a viral load in quantitative terms that was absolutely infinitesimal compared to the ones carried out a month or two months ago”.

Italy has registered the third global highest deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic while it has the “sixth highest global tally of cases. Nevertheless, May records show a drop in the “infections and fatalities” as the country has begun to relax “some of the most rigid lockdown restrictions”. According to Zangrillo some experts expressed concern about a “second wave of infections” while the politicians worked to address the new reality. In his words:
“We’ve got to get back to being a normal country. Someone has to take responsibility for terrorizing the country.”

Even though government is aware that the victor is not near, it has cautioned for precautionary measures. An “undersecretary” at the Ministry of Health in Italy, Sandra Zampa said:
“Pending scientific evidence to support the thesis that the virus has disappeared ... I would invite those who say they are sure of it not to confuse Italians”.
“We should instead invite Italians to maintain the maximum caution, maintain physical distancing, avoid large groups, to frequently wash their hands and to wear masks.”

Moreover, another doctor, the Head of the “infectious diseases clinic” at the “San Martino hospital” located in Genova, Matteo Bassetti said:
“The strength the virus had two months ago is not the same strength it has today”.
“It is clear that today the COVID-19 disease is different.”
