King of Saudi Arabia and Trump discuss work of G20

The King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud discussed the work of the G20 and the situation in the Middle East during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, SPA reports.

"During the phone call, they discussed the work of the G20 chaired by Saudi Arabia this year, as well as the efforts made during the meetings of the organization to protect lives and livelihoods to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic," the message reported.

The King of Saudi Arabia confirmed that the kingdom, during its presidency of the G20, will continue to support and coordinate efforts to combat the impact of the coronavirus on the population and economy.

As for the situation in the region, the agency notes, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud expressed gratitude to the United States for its efforts to establish peace.

He also reaffirmed Riyadh's commitment to achieving a "lasting and just settlement of the Palestinian question", stressing that this is the main starting point for the kingdom's efforts in the framework of the Arab peace initiative.
