"I plan to depart in '27," Lagarde informed Ireland's RTE Radio on Friday. When inquired if this would occur in October—when her term ends—she said, "We will see."
"What I can state at this moment is that when the time comes, everything will be arranged in the most professional way, as is appropriate," Lagarde stated.
During a press conference after last week's ECB meeting, she refused to address inquiries regarding her future as the regulator's head. Western media had previously indicated multiple times that Lagarde intended to resign before her term officially concluded.
