Likely candidate for Renault CEO Maxime Picat leaves Stellantis

06/24/2025

Stellantis announced in a press release that Purchasing Director Maxime Picat has departed from his position.

Picat is seen as one of the top candidates to lead another automaker, Renault.

Last week, Renault's CEO Luca de Meo revealed his intention to resign on July 15 and pursue new opportunities beyond the automotive industry.

De Meo is anticipated to take on the role of CEO at the French holding company Kering, which has ownership of fashion labels like Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent.

Antonio Filosa, who will celebrate his 52nd birthday on Thursday, took on the role of CEO at Stellantis on June 23. The automaker stated in a release that he will continue to serve as the head of the North American division.

Filosa, upon becoming CEO, has nearly entirely kept the former management team intact. Consequently, Chief Financial Officer Doug Ostermann, Chief Engineer Ned Ned Curic, and Head of European Division Jean-Philippe Imparato continued in their roles. The leaders of all 14 Stellantis brands (such as Chrysler, Peugeot, Jeep, Fiat, and Maserati) also stayed the same.
