"The fire at the Petroleros Mexicanos (Pemex) Antonio Dovali Jaime refinery in the port of Salina Cruz, which started yesterday afternoon, resumed Saturday morning, forcing operations to be halted," the newspaper reported.

According to the Civil Protection of Oaxaca's blog, Pemex's internal security systems have been activated in the compound, and illegal entrance is forbidden.

In a vertical tank of gasoline with a capacity of 100,000 barrels, open burning continues. According to reports in the media, firemen are working to cool nearby tanks so that the fire does not spread.

With a production capacity of 360 thousand barrels per day, the Pemex refinery in Salina Cruz is the country's largest oil refinery.
