Nokia becomes 5G supplier for Finland and Baltic countries

The Finnish company Nokia will supply Telia company with around 7.5 thousand 5G transmitters in Finland, the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, the equipment provider said.

Telia is a corporation specializing in telecommunications. Its main office is based in Stockholm. The governments of Sweden and Finland are the company's main shareholders (37.3 percent and 11.7 percent, respectively). In Finland, the organization serves all government communications resources. In Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Baltic States, Denmark, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and other CIS countries, the company and its subsidiaries service 80.1 million customers.

Launched in September 2018, the 5G Telia network in Finland went into commercial service in early 2019 and actually spans 25 percent of the area where future customers live.
