The stakes were obtained from Eight Offshore Investment Holdings and Maravilla Oil & Gas. TotalEnergies will become the project operator.

Eight will keep a 5% share in the project, and Namibia's national oil company, Namcor, will have an additional 10% stake.

The license area, situated in the Luderitz Basin, spans around 11,000 square kilometers of offshore territory in Namibia.

With this acquisition, Petrobras returns to Namibia. The agreement aligns with the company's long-term strategy and business plan for the period 2026 to 2030.

TotalEnergies has increased its holdings in Namibia by acquiring a share in the project, as stated in a press release. Last year, the company took over the operation of two of the nation's biggest oil fields, Mopane and Venus.
