Pfizer to pay $5.4B for Global Blood Therapeutics

Pfizer said that the pharmaceutical company will pay $5.4 billion to acquire the American biopharmaceutical firm Global Blood Therapeutics (GBT).

According to the agreement, Pfizer will pay $68.5 per share for all of GBT's outstanding shares, giving the business a total value of almost $5.4 billion.

The agreement was unanimously accepted by the boards of directors of both firms. The agreement must be fulfilled in order for the transaction to close, and the relevant regulatory bodies and GBT shareholders must also provide their consent.

Pfizer Inc. was established in the United States in 1849, and today it is a major player in the global pharmaceutical market. The business's headquarters is located in New York.
