The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that the campaign impacts 30 electric stove models made from 2013 to 2024.

These stoves are equipped with knob switches on the front that may be inadvertently activated by people or animals. As per the U.S. regulator, Samsung has been informed of over 300 instances of unintended turning on of the knobs since 2013.

Electric stoves made in Thailand were available for purchase at big retailers like Best Buy, Costco, Home Depot, and Lowe's, as well as online, between May 2013 and August 2024 with prices starting at $1250 and going up to $3050.

Samsung is offering stove owners the option to get in touch and get complimentary locks or covers to put on the switch knobs to enhance security, according to the company. Samsung has also stated that it enhanced the safety features on the new stoves since April to prevent accidental activation of the knobs.
