The payment will be made using SpaceX shares, as stated by EchoStar. The deal will happen once all the necessary regulatory approvals are in place.

The new agreement comes after a previous deal between the two companies in September 2025. At that time, EchoStar sold spectrum licenses to SpaceX for a total of $17 billion. For half of that deal, SpaceX used its own shares as payment.

Since the start of 2025, EchoStar's stock value has more than tripled.

EchoStar, which is a company that provides satellite communications and digital infrastructure services, announced in late August that it sold spectrum licenses to AT&T Inc. for about $23 billion in total.
