The Financial Times reports that Spotify had erased tens of thousands of tracks created by artificial intelligence from Boomy startup.
Boomy's tracks were taken down on suspicion of "artificial streaming," which is when bots pose as people to increase song listens and spread their popularity. 7 percent of the tracks uploaded by Boomy were deleted by the service, a source informed the publication.
Another source told the publication that this happened when record label Universal Music protested to all significant streaming services about shady conduct using Boomy songs.
The company noted that "artificial streaming is a long-standing issue across the industry, and Spotify is working to completely eradicate it."
